In the gold medal game Marels Būve played against AIK from Sweden. After first 20 minutes latvians lead by 2:0 (Alex Galkins, Rolands Kravčenko), but in the second home team score 3 goals (Rolands Vīgners, Vitālijs Hvorostiņins, Aigars Cipruss) and lead 5 to nothing. In the third Hvorostinins made 6:0, but Joakim Millqvist did not miss the chance and score the one and only for AIK.
